(She/her)

Background

Rhune De Baere is a PhD researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, affiliated with the End-of-Life Care Research Group and the Compassionate Community Research Group. She works on the PERIBRAVE project, which aims to improve support for families experiencing perinatal loss at home, both through primary care providers and the wider community.

The project consists of three phases:

  1. Identifying the needs of parents, healthcare professionals, and the supporting community through qualitative research.
  2. Co-creating tools and interventions together with various partners and stakeholders, tailored to those needs.
  3. Implementing and evaluating these initiatives in practice.

Rhune obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Ghent University in 2023. In the same year, she began a second Master’s in Sexology at KU Leuven, which she completed in 2025. Since September 2025, she has been working as a doctoral researcher at the VUB.
