Octavia Kint

BACKGROUND

Octavia started in 2019 as a PhD researcher in the MaN'Aige project, a research in two neighbourhoods in Brussels. The MaN'Aiges research question is ‘How do we build a caring neighbourhood with neighbourhood users in the city centre (Martyrs and  Notre-Dame-aux-Neiges)? With a group of co-researchers, we investigated the meaning of care in an urban context and how this can be shaped together with neighbourhood users from the neighbourhood, i.e. organisations or companies, but also individual workers and commuters. Octavia’s PhD focuses on participatory research in neighbourhoods, and more specifically the role it can play in urban challenges concerning living together. The PhD also focuses on the use of different participatory methods: walk-along interviews, mapping workshops, creative workshops, collective analysis...

Octavia holds a master's degree in Anthropology from the UCLouvain and lives in Brussels.
